About World Book day

World Book Day is a celebration day.

It’s a celebration of books and reading and enjoyment of reading.

It is where book lovers, teachers, authors and children get together to celebrate books.

This is the 20th year of the World Book Day 2017, and it is held each year on the 2nd of March.

We encourage and organise children of all ages to come together to appreciate reading. In a fun, happy way.

Book giving day is about allowing children the opportunity to have their own books. choose their own books and enjoy them. Reading together as a group, one on one, and then individually. Where they can pick them up by themselves because they want to!

World Book Day in the UK and Ireland also aim to send schools and pre-schools and nurseries packs of Book Tokens and age-ranged World Book Day Resource Packs full of ideas and activities. These book tokens are taken to a local bookstore and can be used to pick from a selection of books. Get book tokens here in UK

March the 2nd is also Dr Seuss day! so celebrate with him here also. Look out on your social media
